Children's Activities on a Sunday

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14

Children are welcome to all of our services across the benefice and we have children's facilities in some of our churches.

At St Andrew's during 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays we have activities for most ages

Allsorts - for primary school age children up to about 10 years this is held during the service with the children going out after the first hymn and either coming back at the end or for communion

X Stream - for 10 years plus this group is either held at the Rectory or at the back of the church in the tower room, again the children leave after the first hymn and then come back at the end of the service

Creche - we also have a creche area at the side of the church in the vestry where preschooler can play whilst parents can still feel part of the service.

There are also activity packs with topical colouring and activity sheets plus other activities. These also include children's service book that guides then through the service with pictures and explanations of what is happening. Toy bags are also available for the really young.

Please ask a sidesman if you woulld like either of these.

For all sorts and X stream we use the "Light Live" resources.

Youth Group

We have a small but dedicated youth group that meet once a month and run our occasional youth services. This group is coordinated by Alan

Please contact him if you would like to be involved. This group also helps to run our X Stream and All Sorts children's groups.

Other Activities

We run a series of other activities for youth and children throughout the year which have varied from holiday clubs, trips to Spring Harvest and picnics.

In 2017 we took a group of 16 people to SPREE South West which is a Christian Camp for children and the youth.  Check out the video below to see what we got up to!
